Longhorns slated to be in San Marcos tonight. First pitch at 6pm. Last I heard only standing room only Tix left so if youre planning on going and don't have a ticket yet you may want to get on that. Looks like a decent chance of rain tonight in SM as well so something to keep an eye on.

Wes Engle projected to get the start for TXST.

Engle probably gonna be on a short pitch count tonight as it's not sure if Fraze is gonna be able to go vs Little Rock this weekend.

If Fraze can't go vs Little Rock then they may ask Engle to go on Saturday, meaning they can't overextend him tonight. Bullpen is going to have to be solid to have a chance to win tonight more than likely.

3-0 Texas in a rain delay in the 5th inning.

Bobcats lose 6-1.

Season is becoming frustrating as 24 games into the season the offense is still performing well below preseason expectations.

Thursday-Saturday series coming up vs. Little Rock.

Let's take a look at the lineup and compare returning players averages from 2017 to 2018.

3 players have upped their averages:
Sherley from .291 to .297
Huber from .273 to .286
Scott from .172 to .233

7 players have regressed:
Paul dropped from .298 to .293
Ortega dropped from .339 to .283 (big one)
Scheible dropped from .277 to .267
Almendarez dropped from .284 to .259
Hubbard dropped from .296 to .250 (big one)
Newman dropped from .296 to .157 (biggest one)
Rodriguez dropped from .214 to .083

Coffey hit .200 last year and is hitting .200 this year.

As a team we've dropped from a solid .284 last year to a not-so-solid .247 this year with essentially the same lineup. Hoffman was a huge loss (lead the team in avg last year) but I'm not sure how to explain the regression from most of the returning players.

The pitching has improved tremendously from last year collectively. If we can find our groove offensively we could be a pretty good team. But I've been saying that for 24 games and it hasn't turned a corner yet. Very frustrating.

To me, they've looked flat since the UTSA game. No fire in the belly, just trying to not make mistakes.
In other words, mid-season form.
