Post Oklahoma State series
'Cats wasted a fine start by Fraze last night.
Really sloppy start to the season for a team of veterans. Six errors--should have been seven against a quality team like the Cowboys won't cut it. Lose 6-2.
Hope for better fielding today and tomorrow.
Maybe some timely hitting would help, also.

Cats really looked good today. Reich looked as good as I've ever seem him. Also thought it was interesting that Baird came out of the bullpen. Curous who will pitch sunday and midweek game. Wes will probably pitch one of them.

Yes, now that looked like a veteran team this evening! Reich was great with excellent hitting and good support in the field. OSU had to feel like we did last night.
Looking forward to the sugar game tomorrow.

First pitch to last, that was a fun game to watch . .. . also had a nice crowd on hand.

Would love to take this series. :eatemup:

drop the rubber match 6-5. man, that would have been a killer way to start the season.

This series was sooooo winnable. Despite losing 2 of the 3, I was impressed by the overall effort. I'd love to be hyper optimistic, but it IS TXST athletics, so I'll "temper" my outlook . . . take it "one game at a time," and any other applicable cliche that comes to mind.

Rice on Tuesday, on the road, ... . . it would be a nice win . . . :-||

I know that umpires don't really mean the difference between winning and losing in the long run.
But, for one call yesterday, the 'Cats would have won. Should have gotten a called third strike against the Cowboy's home run hitter, the team would have won. Looked like a perfect throw on the inside corner from our viewpoint. Instead of the out--BOOM, three run homer. We had first base open and I wanted to pitch around or walk him.
We also had runners in scoring position with less that 2 outs a couple of times where a timely hit would have won the game.
Both teams were very close in talent and effort this weekend, just OSU found a way to win.
Our group felt really good about the starting pitching and consistent hitting. Even got some good relief pitching in spots. Looking forward to see if they develop and start winning close games.
