Good news about Texas State football? Where've you been the last few years? The only good news surrounding the program will be when the contract is bought out.

Oh, and the correct word is "dammit." Damn it works as two words, but it's "dammit" if you're using one. Stick around; you'll learn a lot.

Damnit, I new I was bad at speling.

If you haven't noticed, Party in the Park is this weekend. This event has always led to commits in following week(s):

Andrew Henry @‏_andrewhenry
Who will be in San Marcos this weekend!!!!!! #B19CATS

https://twitter.com/FastLane_Zay/status/1009590158369411073

https://twitter.com/CatchaplayJ/status/1009591213748576257
Jonathan Alexander: Supposed to be coming this weekend but is going to Lincoln tomorrow.
Mention from Nebraska fans he could be eligible immediately so he may be a 2018 guy and not a 2019 guy. Either way, we gotta hope he comes on Saturday.

Of course, TXST commit Bryson McKinney is doing what he does best... help recruit!!!

See you there brudda

That is only the ones I can find that have noted coming next week and more will likely tweet in coming days.

Here's hoping we win more this season so we can recruit more efficiently. And pull in better recruits, obviously.

Considering Withers indicated last year that signing players early in December was the plan (at least it was last season), 242 shouldn't be that surprising. When signing day was only in February, we'd still have 7-8 months from June to February. That is no longer the case. Gotta get ahead and if you remember during Withers' signing class press conference, he noted that since they signed a group of 16-18 early they were ahead in planning for the 2019 class.

If you were to throw out any current 24/7 we've offered that is a 85 or higher rating, we'd drop 83 of them (assuming most would go P5). From there, we'd be down to 157. Just an example of how many we truly have interested in us. I'd sure love to get a 85+ rated recruit but I'm not holding my breath.

Personally, when I look at the list of players on 24/7... I usually am looking at the bottom up because I am not optimistic we'd get those high 80s guys. I'd love to be wrong but I would think our best options are from the bottom to the middle at each position. We've hit some middle ranked 3*s and a few in the lower 80s (McKinney currently a 82 and Wells an 81).

I'm excited about this weekend! Lets see how things go. By the way, I'm not big on these rating players/stars but it make it more fun when we get one of them to commit!

i do chuckle when i click the link and immediately see gunnell. you could also throw out about 95% of the oos offers, as they are obvious helicopters. doesn't hurt anything, but not sure what the point is in offering the 5* guys, other than to have our name on the list... greatness by association, maybe?

his brother was already on the team and uh hired oliver's high school head coach. that was a bit of blind luck, and an excellent strategic hire by herman.

not surprisingly, uh hasn't had another 4* (or 5*, for that matter) commit since herman moved on.

I would hope EW would be looking to those places in addition to the metro areas of TX for talented players.
I mean, how many 3* or higher guys come out of those areas?
Probably setting myself up with that question-----lol.

UH is just a better sell than Texas State.

You have no ground to say this. I'll have you know I just finished installing 32 in LCD TVs in our fabulous football stadium

such a stark contrast to just 10 years ago when stanford and the service academies were topping that list at around 250 late in the fall. when fans bitch about players switching their verbal commitment from one team to another, they ignore the fact that schools carpetbomb offers, many of them non-committable.
